Biography:
Steve Walker is another Pitt recruit who didn't get much publicity as a senior due to his early committment to Pittsburgh, and may surprise some at DB his freshman season. He could also play WR or be a Steve Breaston type of return man. Steve is the fifth recruit from John R. Buchtel to sign with Pitt during Walt Harris' tenure as head coach.

At John R. Buchtel HS, Steve was a three-time Akron City Series Offensive Player of the Year, two-time All-Northeast Ohio, and two-time first team All-Summit County. Walker started at QB for 3 years and at CB his senior year, throwing for 4,640 yards in 3 seasons at QB and intercepting 6 passes, 2 for touchdowns, at one season playing CB. He led Buchtel to a 26-8 record over 3 seasons and the Akron City Series title his junior year. SuperPrep named him to their All-Midwest team and rated him among the top 60 prospects. He was also a Max Emfinger All-American.
