Biography:
Tyler Tipton rushed for 451 yards and 5 touchdowns (12.8 average) as a senior at fullback for Lynchburg Christian Academy and also made 11 receptions for 161 yards (14.6 average) with 2 touchdowns. At linebacker he made 118 tackles, 19 for a loss. He had 3 interceptions and returned one 42 yards for a TD. Four-year starter Tyler played quarterback his freshman and sophomore years and moved to fullback for his junior and senior years. On defense he started three seasons at linebacker and one at safety.

Tyler joins teammate Rashad Jennings from Lynchburg Christian Academy in Lynchburg, VA.

Tipton was recruited by running backs coach Dino Babers. He's very strong - did 21 reps at the Nike Camp where he weighed 210 pounds - which is outstanding. He also had a very impressive 31.8 vertical at the Nike Camp.

Tyler was a two-time Lynchburg News & Advance All-Area selection and three-time All-Virginia Division 2 honoree. He led his team to a two-year record of 18-4-1 and two state playoff berths, with the team being the Virginia Division 2 runner-up in 2003.
