Pitt's 2008 preseason camp begins in less than two weeks at the UPMC Sports Complex, and it looks like the Panthers are in for a grueling workout regimen that begins Aug. 5 with two practice sessions and ends Aug. 22 to prepare for the season-opener against Bowling Green Aug. 30 at Heinz Field.

Pittsburgh will practice twice on nine days and end camp with two night workouts. The annual FanFest is Aug. 21 from 6-9:15 p.m. at Heinz Field, and the final camp session is Aug. 22 from 6:15-8:15 p.m.

The first practice in full gear is Saturday, Aug. 9, from 2-5 p.m. There will also be an afternoon scrimmage from 3-5:30 Tuesday, Aug. 12, as well as one in the morning from 10:15-12:45 Saturday, Aug. 16. The final intra-squad scrimmage will be Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 3-5 p.m.

Discounting the Saturday scrimmages and final two workouts, Pitt will hold one practice on five days during a nine-day span after the first week. The Panthers will work out from 2-5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11; Wednesday, Aug. 13; Friday, Aug. 15; and Tuesday, Aug. 19. On Sunday, Aug. 17, Pitt will practice from 5-6:30 p.m.

During the two-a-day workouts, the morning practice generally begins at 8 or 8:30. The annual media day festivities start at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 4.
