The University of Pittsburgh football program held their second annual Big Man Challenge on Saturday. Pine-Richalnd was the winner knocking off the defending champion Gateway Gators. Here are some photos from the event.


Medicine Ball

In the first event the athlete's have to toss a medicine ball backwards over their head.


Buddy Morris

Pittsburgh strength coach Buddy Morris is in charge of the Big Man Challenge.


Sled Pull

The second event is a sled pull. Three 45-pound plates are placed on the sled and the athlete's pull it 50-yards in a relay format.


Tire Flip

In the third event the athlete's participate in a tire flip. The players flip a tire 30-yards in relay format. The tire weighs in excess of 100-pounds.

Fallen Star

The obstacle course is a combination of all the events, plus a walking dead lift. The event had a few casulaties who collapsed from exhaustion like this player from North Star.


Tug of War - Manheim Township

The last event is an old fashioned Tug-of-War. Manheim Township lost to Pine Richland for a spot in the Finals against defending champion Gateway.
