The last time the University of Pittsburgh had a signal caller from Pittsburgh Central Catholic, was back in the days of Dan Marino. Today
the Panthers received a commitment from another Viking quarterback Shane Murray.

the University of Pittsburgh.
“I’ve always wanted to go to Pitt, Dan Marino had great success there
and hopefully I can continue the tradition,” Murray said. “I’ll get two
years to learn from Tyler Palko who played quarterback and Safety in
high school the same as me.
Murray led the Vikings to the PIAA Class AAAA title game the last two
seasons, with them finally capturing the title this season. Murray
passed for 1,485 yards and 20 touchdowns. He ran for 476 yards and 4

and two fumble recoveries.
Murray was named 1st team Associated Press Class AAAA All-State, 1st
team All-Conference, 1st team All-WPIAL Class AAAA by the Pittsburgh
Post-Gazette, and the Tribune-Review, Harrisburg Patriot-News Platinum
