The 2009 season saw Pitt finally put together a dominating offensive line. It was a point of emphasis for Dave Wannstedt when he came here in 2005, and the 2009 offensive line was the one that met his vision.

Already, after a year where the line allowed just 1.15 sacks a game (tops in the Big East, 16th nationally) and a year where they paved the way for 1,799 yards for true freshman running back Dion Lewis, Wannstedt has to replace three of those starters.
