Pitt Announces Non-Conference Sked Thru 2013

The Pitt football team had one opening on its 2010 schedule, and Panthers director of athletics Steve Pederson secured Florida International to fill the slot.

The FIU Golden Panthers, which lost to No. 1 Florida 62-3 this past Saturday, play in the Sun Belt Conference. The Miami, Fla.-based school is 3-8 with a game remaining against Florida Atlantic.

Along with FIU for next season, Pittsburgh announced its non-conference schedules through the 2013 football season.

The Panthers play games against Iowa, Miami, Fla., Notre Dame, Utah and Virginia Tech. All those schools were rated among the BCS top 25 this year. While the dates are known for the non-conference matchups, they are subject to change. The home and away Big East opponents are known, but specific dates will not be solidified until that particular calendar year.
