The Pitt football team had an extended "Walking Wounded'' list, along with others out for its annual Blue-Gold intra-squad scrimmage Saturday afternoon at Heinz Field, and that juggled the depth chart quite a bit.
Pittsburgh
players who were ruled out for the spring game due to recent injuries or offseason surgery who are expected to be starters this season included included senior tight end
Nate Byham
(right shoulder), fifth-year senior middle linebacker
Adam Gunn
(neck) and redshirt junior left offensive tackle
Jason Pinkston
(left shoulder) and redshirt junior defensive end
Greg Romeus
(back).
Other players ruled out included fifth-year senior safety
Irvan Brown
(right Achilles tendon), fifth-year senior defensive end
Doug Fulmer
(right knee), redshirt junior cornerback
Ricky Gary
(right knee), redshirt sophomore defensive end
Justin Hargrove
(left ankle), fifth-year senior middle linebacker
Shane Murray
(right knee), fifth-year senior defensive tackle
Gus Mustakas
(right knee) and fifth-year senior tight end
John Pelusi
(left shoulder).
Redshirt sophomore fullback
Henry Hynoski
(right toe) and redshirt junior fullback
Joe Capp
(right foot) were listed as questionable, but neither got any early action.
Redshirt freshman
Cameron Saddler
(right knee) was limited to just catching punts. He sat out the entire spring, but is close to being ready to play.
Four players were out with suspension: senior cornerback
Aaron Berry
, senior defensive tackle
Tommie Duhart
, redshirt sophomore center
Wayne Jones
and senior wideout
T.J. Porter
.
