Sun Bowl Practices Begin

After what basically amounted to one week off, the Pitt football team got back into its game-week regimen with meetings and a light workout Saturday.
No. 18
Pittsburgh
(9-3) has begun preparing in earnest for its matchup with No. 24
Oregon State
(8-4) in the 75th annual Sun Bowl Wednesday at 2 p.m. in El Paso, Texas. The game will be broadcast nationally by CBS-TV.
After morning meetings, the coaches and players visited El Paso's Thomason Hospital to spend time with the children and their families there. The Panthers went through a two-hour practice in the afternoon before returning to the team hotel for dinner. The evening ended with a trip to Adventure Zone, an activities park that had go-carts, miniature golf, batting cages and video games.
