The game will be simulcast
live to national and local audiences via the NFL Network and WPCW, Pittsburgh’s
CW, at 6 p.m. Bob Pompeani will call the action, while Panthers head
coach Dave Wannstedt will provide color analysis.
“We are excited to
announce that our spring football game will receive unprecedented television
coverage this year,” Pitt athletic director Steve Pederson said. “For
those who can’t make it to Heinz Field, the NFL Network and CW will provide our
fans with a great sneak preview of the Panthers before training camp.”
The Blue-Gold Game will
be a two-hour scrimmage (6 to 8 p.m.) between the Panthers’ offense and defense,
utilizing a modified scoring format. In addition to the action on the field,
fans in attendance will be treated to a pregame FanFest event on the Gate A
plaza. Highlights include:
* A team autograph
session from 4 to 4:30 p.m.
* Live music and
entertainment
* Games, prizes and face
painting
* The Pitt Pep Band and
cheerleaders
* Official Panthers
merchandise and season tickets on sale
Admission for the
