Connecticut ranks second in the Big East in overall defense with 217.7 yards allowed per game, but Pitt quarterback Kevan Smith believed the Panthers (2-1) would learn from their loss last week and were up for the challenge against the Huskies (3-0) Saturday at 7 p.m. at Heinz Field.
