Kevan Smith's first collegiate start went pretty much as scripted, as the redshirt freshman quarterback didn't make too many mistakes and played a solid supporting role in Pitt's 34-10 win against Grambling State Saturday afternoon at Heinz Field.

Kevan Smith completed 15 of 22 passes for 202 yards, including one beautiful 61-yard bomb to redshirt sophomore wideout Oderick Turner and a 50-yard scoring pass to sophomore tight end Nate Byham.
