On Saturday, Nix ventured to Pittsburgh for junior day and as is usual for Nix he spoke to both the offensive line coach (Paul Dunn) and defensive line coach (Greg Gattuso).
"I know coach (Dunn) likes me on offense," Nix said. "I know that (Greg) Gattuso wants me on defense."
Nix, a native Pennsylvanian has become a regular at the Oakland campus, but he still learns more about the coaches, school and team with each trip.
"I took a little tour around," he said. "I talked to the coaches and got to know them more. Each time I go down I get the chance to know more about them."
Most Panther fans expect an early commit from Nix. They are hopeful that he eventually will commit to Pittsburgh and join his brother redshirt freshmen Nate Nix.
"I'll probably decide at the end of spring or beginning of summer," Nix explained.
Nix has watched his brother blossom from a skinny, 200-pound linebacker into a 230-pound force and it has been bitter sweet.
"Nate is up to about 230-pounds right now and he is ripped up. I'm almost afraid of him, because I have never seen him that big before," Nix laughed."
