Lindsey Expected to Commit to Pitt

The University of Pittsburgh recently bid farewell to senior linebackers H.B. Blades, Clint Session and Brian Bennett. Head Coach Dave Wannstedt was pursing a number of talented linebackers capable of making an early impact with the Panthers. It appears he was successful this weekend.

The University of Pittsburgh hosted a large number of talented prospects this weekend. It appears that one of them, athletic linebacker Brandon Lindsey (6-foot-2 inches, 220 pounds) from Aliquippa High School in Aliquippa, PA, has verbally committed to the Panthers.

According to Scout.com recruiting analyst Bob Lichtenfels, Lindsey is expected to publically announce he's joining the Panther football program early Sunday.

Scout.com ranks Lindsey the 10th best outside linebacker in the nation and a "four-star" recruit. A phenomenal athlete, he led the Quips in tackles for two consecutives seasons. Brandon chose the Panthers over Ohio State and West Virginia. He joins fellow Class of 2007 linebacker commit Max Gruder.

This season, Lindsey rushed for 743 yards on 151 carries and led Aliquippa High School to a 10-1 record overall.
