Panthers get another verbal from top Ohio star
The 5-11 180 lb star, who
runs a 4.4 40, Projects as a cornerback at Pitt. Eric started as a freshman at Moeller High School which is almost
unheard of and will be a 4-year starter this year!!! Eric started at safety as
a freshmen and sophomore, and played running back and wide receiver last
season. Eric rushed for 662 yards on
120 carries and 4 TD’s, plus had 27 catches for 437 yards and 5 TD’s last
season. Prepstar magazine list’s Eric as having a 260 lb bench press, 420 lb
squat, a 32 inch vertical jump and a 11.0 100 meters, all outstanding marks for
a cornerback prospect. Eric just attended a speed camp as recently as a week
ago, so look for those numbers to only improve. Eric suffered a severe ankle
injury last season and some schools backed off of him after that, but Pitt
stuck by him and the loyalty Pitt showed really meant a lot to him. Doctors
have given his ankle 100% clearance and he really impressed at Pitt’s camp
recently. Eric is known for his excellent speed, versatility, and athletic
ability. He is also known for being a team player and hard worker, who is always
looking to improve his play. Eric is very impressed with the fact that Pitt
Shares a stadium and practice facilities with the Steelers, as he wants to play
in the NFL someday. Other schools showing heavy interest in Eric were Ohio
State, Boston College, South Carolina, Tennessee and Nebraska. Eric fills a
big-time need position for the Panthers. Three of the players in Pitt’s
two-deep at cornerback are seniors, and one is a junior, so Eric will have a
great opportunity to start very early in his college career.
