Pollock is quickly becoming one of the rising prospects in the central Florida area.
"He's at around 205 pounds right now," said Josh's father, Al Pollock, a former Kutztown (Pa.) University linebacker and Pennsylvania native who played with former Buffalo Bills great Andre Reed. "He's working with a trainer right now and he's trying to get him up to around 215-220 or so for the summer camps."
With his increase in size and a 4.58 forty yard dash time that's getting faster, Pollock was expected to be one of the better safeties at the U.S. Army combine in San Antonio in January, but some unfortunate circumstances prevented the rising senior to attend.
"Josh is looking forward to the camps coming up this summer," the elder Pollock said. "We've been sending him up to linebackers camp every year and we sent him up to Penn State camp his freshmen and sophomore year. We're not sure what camps we'll be doing this summer, but we're gonna try and send him to a bunch."
The rising senior, who has played varsity football in Florida's largest classification since his sophomore year, has started on defense, punt returns, kick returns.
He was recently switched from linebacker to safety last season and recorded 83 tackles, forcing 7 fumbles and recovering one.
"It's better suited for his size and speed," Pollock explained. "It's smarter to play him there, cause it enables him to be faster and more aggressive. The coaches have liked what they've seen since the move."
The sunshine state product, but Pennsylvania native currently favors Georgia, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Iowa and Miami (Oh).
