Commitment Number Ten

Eric Rodemoyer

The Panthers have been on a torrid pace on the recruiting front, Jason Pinkston, and Justin Hargrove committed last night, Kevan Smith today, now we learn that another player committed last night.

Sharon (Pa.) Kennedy Catholic offensive/defensive lineman Eric Rodemoyer (6-3, 305, 5.0) called the Panthers last night and announced his intentions.

"I called Coach [Matt] Cavanaugh last night, and then I called Coach [Dave] Wannstedt and made my decision last night between 8-9 PM," Rodemoyer said. "I told them I wanted to be a Pitt Panther."

Rodemoyer attended Pittsburgh's camp over the weekend and was impressive; he was hoping an offer was coming from his childhood favorite.

"I've wanted to go to Pittsburgh since I started playing football," Rodemoyer said. "I was going crazy I knew I did well at camp, and an offer may be coming, they offered yesterday morning."

What convinced Rodemoyer that Pitt was it?

"When I left camp, I didn't want to leave so I knew it was for me," Rodemoyer said. "Pittsburgh has a great pharmacy program, and I really like Coach [Matt] Cavanaugh and the other coaches there.

In 2004, Rodemoyer registered 55 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, eight forced fumbles, and 5 fumble recoveries. He was named second team All-County, and third team Class A All-State.

Rodemoyer chose the Panthers over an offer from Akron, and strong interest from West Virginia.
