Donnell McKenzie

A lot of Panther fans have been begging to know what ever became of Aliquippa (Pa.) linebacker Donnell McKenzie. The Quips standout has been working hard trying to get his academics in order, and figure out where he'll play his college ball.

At 6-2 and 235 pounds, Donnell McKenzie proved to be a dominant force for the Aliquippa Fighting Quips. It has long been McKenzie's desire to suit up for the Panthers. McKenzie came up short of the qualifying standard, and now he is seeking alternative means to get to Oakland.

"With the score I have I need a 2.9 GPA, and I have a 2.6," McKenzie said. "Basically, I'm going to keep taking the test, and go to Valley Forge Military Academy."

One would assume that since McKenzie is going to VFMA, there's a good chance he'll fulfill his wish of becoming a Panther.

"There's a 95-98% chance that I'll be in Pittsburgh next season," McKenzie said. "I'll go to Valley Forge, and then hopefully I'll be able to enroll in January.

McKenzie received a big surprise recently when he was added to the Pennsylvania Roster for this summer's Big 33 All-Star clash against Ohio.

"That's a great honor, me and Tommie Campbell will both be playing," McKenzie said.

McKenzie made over 120 tackles as a senior at Aliquippa. He earned All-Conference, and All-League honors.
