Edwards Is A Panther

Devon Edwards is a 6-6, 230-pound tight end out of Columbus (OH) Eastmoor High School.

Devon Edwards had some impressive schools after him, but as a tight end it's easy to see why he committed to the Pitt Panthers. One, its an offense that uses the tight end heavily. Two, with one of the three regulars at tight end graduating after this season, as well as some of the injury issues the position has had this year, Edwards saw Pitt as the right choice.

"I committed to Pittsburgh," Edwards informed Panther Digest. "I just liked the campus a lot, the coaches, the way they use the tight ends."

Edwards, who has 8 touchdowns on offense this year, came in for the Virginia Tech game, said the atmosphere and the city stood out. He also said it wasn't to hard to lure him out of Columbus, even though Ohio State wasn't a school in the picture.

"It was pretty appealing, just coming to Pittsburgh for a game," Edwards said. "The coaches were very excited when I told them I was coming here."

Edwards is the 19th verbal commitment of the 2013 recruiting class, the fifth player out of the state of Ohio, an second tight end in the recruiting class.
